Guest smoothrun
A message to all you saluki nuts out there. There is no way in this world a saluki comes any where near a lurcher for working abilities. That's a fact and you god dam know it. Just stick to the shows and leave it out. Quote Link to post
miles 227
Just out of interest Smoothrun what do you run?...........still waiting :search: Quote Link to post
miles 227
A pit bull on stilts. All head and nothing else I dont like the things and that is it. They dont look like lurchers. I work 2 greyhounds and 2 beddyx greyhounds and a deerhoundxgrey every one of my dogs will take fox single handed better than any bull x.................. Mmmm, dont bother i found it so Beddys are your thing?,and as i look through your posts your after free lurchers  Im not goin to get into a "my breeds better then your breed debate" you run what you run and you like what you like, takes all sorts Seems you,ve moved on to another target after you were taken out and shown up by the bull boys!!!! You can get better. The bullx is over rated. A good beddyx will take a battering time and time again Anything with a beddy in it is a ready made fox dog. These bull things that are about these days dont even look like lurchers. They grab hold of the quary by any part and just hold on(bum biters) witch means things die slowly at the hands of a bullx . We all know the real reson most people got one of these things anyway b****** the dirty b*****ds. Another gem Quote Link to post
elma-fudd 0
ffs a wish i shut up when i posted this thread but its been good reading you have to hand it to the saluki for stamina, quote=DONT SPEAK UTTER FUKIN CRAP A GOOD SALUKI CANNOT DO EVERYTHING A GOOD LURCHER CAN DO ...THEY ARE GOOD AT WHAT THEY DO RUNNING IN THE OPEN DESSERT IN THE HEAT thats all i was say to begin with was not many dogs could take that heat and runand yes lurchers with saluki in them are good but also abit batty.not say there all like that though so dont shot me down in flames.sorry about the spelling just out of bed. There is no way in this world a saluki comes any where near a lurcher for working abilities. That's a fact and you god dam know it. Just stick to the shows and leave it out. Ive owned and seen some incredible working salukis brought up to hunt dogs that could work with their nose and good at it for toughness they are unbeatable running over anything without damaging feet etc they excell at larger game to i had two threequater saluki quater grews that were well biddable admitedly ive seen a lot that have been a bit slow with commands but imho i dont think the owners had put much training in if i was running the big land i wouldnt want anything else Quote Link to post
bigdan 11
ive never had a dog without saluki in it never had a pure breed heard they can be stuburn but i would have one its crossed becouse of terrain you hunt i live in dorset the ground can be hard were i go but on the fens it may be softer so a pure breed may show its true potential on a open space where there stamina counts but ive never been let down by this breed Quote Link to post
Berkutchi 0
I had a pure feathered saluki bitch for 3 years till not long ago due to a freak accident, all i can say if youre happy and the dogs happy and does its job does it really matter? I live in the Fens and made the most of it with her with our big bunnies  ,i think in this enviroment she came into her own and loved taking fox pre ban  ,and one roe  And cant wait to get another saluki pup in the summer Edited January 31, 2007 by Berkutchi Quote Link to post

Terrier Stuff 0
Salukis are fantastic dogs, you get the bad ones but the good uns are FAB Cross them with a greyhound and you have a dog that will run for ages but with a lot of speed. tinypic.com/view/?pic=2eg4p75[img/img] Still cant put pictures up..
