secretagentmole 1,701 Posted March 5, 2011 Report Share Posted March 5, 2011 Caution chaps and chapesses, Mole wishes to confirm the rumour that he is now in proud possession of a pneumatic pre charged air rifle. This is topped off with a Tasco 3-9 x 50 IR scope with range finder reticle pattern. The gun is my birthday present, complete with whisper silencer, pump and scope. The mounts that came with the scope I would not use on a BB gun, they were lousy so we got a set of Hawke Sport mounts, 25mm high as this thing has a hell of a front lens! The reticle lights red or green, like looking at an ILS on an aircraft! Have to find out how to use it properly! Wowser. Got down to the range after getting it, sat in the club house assembling her. Tarzan was put together, the Air Arms Field Diablos were loaded into the two magazines. Checked the pressure. Out to the firing range. target up, 25 yard range, back to gun, put magazine in, click, such a sweet insert, pull the lever back, load pellet, safety off, aim, pull, twink, thwack! I know I pulled the trigger, I heard a twink by my right ear and a hell of a thwack down at the target board! Amazed I pulled the lever again, pressed the button, aimed, pulled the trigger, twink, thwack! It became addictive, twink, thwack, twink, thwack, twink, thwack... Aim was 2 inches left and three inches high, altered sights, twink, thwack, twink, thwack, twink, thwack, just about beamed in, I have to lead the barrel so until I have put a hundred or so pellets through I am not going to see very tight groups, but wow, I love my new gun... The indexing is fine out of the box, she is so good. I am really liking this gun, put 40 pellets down the range in 30 minutes! That includes scope adjusting, got a three quarter inch grouping now which aint bad considering the barrel is not even leaded and it was blowing across the range as well. The missus got a bargain though, brand new gun and pump £370! Edited to say Mole's birthday is on Saturday and I can't get to the meet as the other half is still recovering from the crash that did her wrist in! Edgar (Rice Burroughs) wrote Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan and named one of his heroes Carter as well! So this gun is named after his eponymous vine swinging hero! The pistol the wife has is called Death of Rats by the way (too much Terry Pratchet as well)! Edited to say I know who agent 6 and threequarters is as well! I love this gun though, but seeing as the wife bought it, she named it! I was going to call it Rice Burroughs, but that sounds like the name of an asian rabbit's hideout! So she monickered it Tarzan! It is very difficult to find this gun in .177 and the prices are due to go sharply upwards soon! These PCP Hatsans are getting some nice write ups. They did have a rough casting problem on the magazines, but this has been cured, tried both of mine in it, slickly rotated! They have that problem licked and the trigger was sweet too. First stage nice and light, hold on the second then light pull, thwack! Predictable and accurate! It also has an anti double pellet loading device too! Quote Link to post
