right boys, just out of curiosity,you boys that's banging on about how good that dog is,do you really honestly,hand on heart believe that that hare with the same start,on the same ground couldn't have been lifted off the field in 2 minutes with a different dog.i don't know about this" fen coursing" but i do know that 6 flat parks is 6 flat parks and that job could have been done in half the time with a dog that knows how to apply and sustain pressure

:thumbs:pre ban i think it is harder running hares with a dog that,s not super fast with obsticle,s ect to go at aswell and i no the saying don,t knock it till youv,e tried it bred a dog that i no for sure would have straight lined that with no where to go on open land just my opinion but after 3/4 big slip,s one after the other for sure would blow up but i would be happy seeing couple good run,s

Well as someone who saw Lucky running in the flesh I don't need to speculate. I KNOW he was a great dog. Why weren't all these "better, faster" dogs competing in the finals against the likes of Lucky?

The owner of another great dog, Sniper, ran regularly with Lucky's owner and he told me that no matter how many hares the bitch he was running at the time killed in the course of a day out, Lucky would always take more. Here was a man who had won the Forley cup and run on all types of land and he was praising Lucky to the rafters.

 

Roll on the day when this ban is lifted and maybe some of these secret super dogs will come out from hiding and show the world of salukified lurcherdom where we've been going wrong.

totally agree and by no mean,s am i try to state any different dog,s can go any where and blank i had a pup sired by the brother of lucky i like the salukighound type of dog and the only type of dog i have owned you cant catch them all what i have seen on the dvd,s is i don,t think there has been one dog on any of them having to take fence,s ect but that might be because they dont have to with the type of land they are running

Another thing you have to bear in mind is the forshortening effect of the lens. The horizon is much further away than it looks.....the land is even bigger when you're stood on it than it looks on tape.
