how can i tell if i've broken my nose?

Recommended Posts

i took a bump at rugby today, and my nose bled and bled and bled, i can't have cut it, i went face-first into somebody's back, how will i know if it's broken?

it's swelled up alot at one side

you should clearly be able to see if it was broken mate due to the crookedness of it and the new shape it has taken on lol can you feel any clicking when you move it?

Iv'e done mine a few times, and iv'e also had it operated on. If your going to carry on playing Rugby leave it alone and get it fixed when you've finished playing, you'll only break it again. The operation i had done wasn't nice, afterwards i had long pieces of gauze pushed up my nose. Well they have to come out, and the nurses love doing that. Felt like the inside of me head was being pulled out through me nose :icon_eek:

Try tapping your nose with your finger gently, if you can hear it cracking, it's broke.

Ive had the gause shoved up my nose, its like a giant tampon and it wasnt pleasent...although i didnt break myne i had a blood vesel burst for no aparent reason when i got up out of bed, bled for what must have been about 6 hours atleast very heavily (we ran out of kitchen and toilet role) and left me with a hole in my nose about 5mm long which had to be corterised...got to go in the air ambulance though and felt like i was pissed with the blood loss
