Ran a pajero for 6 years, but have changed it for a subaru forester

And I should have done it years ago !!! much cheaper to run and goes anywhere.

TBH unless you need a muckle big 4x4 I would think twice about buying one,, 20 to 25 mpg on diesel is a bit dear now

Forester is returning over 35 mpg

What the insurance like on the Forester ?

bet your forrester wouldnt go everywhere i take my fourtrak! :whistling:

lol maybe not,, but on the right tyres it would give it a good run! It is a car after all not a 4x4

Just to add ,35 mpg is on a long run,, slightly less when farting about the doors !

Bear in mind that some insurance companies will load you with a Jap import.

With a two grand Land Rover its more than likely going to be over fifteen years old which means as a second car you can get classic limited mileage insurance if you go with a specialist company like Footman James, (or Peter James Insurance who used to be part of Footman James and will beat any of their quotes), I pay £116 fully comp for a 1995 Discovery limited to 6000 miles a year.

Update

I have purchased a SWB 2.5TD Pajero, very pleased, suprised how much you get for your money. Its got 143K on the clock which the guy selling it to me said it had done in miles but when I checked it the odometer is still in KM's so its only done 88K Miles :boogie: Had a good mate of mine who knows his way around 4 x 4's take a look and he said its a good thing.

Joined the Pajero forum which is a great site and im running it on a 50% mix of veg oil to diesel which works great so running costs are MUCH cheaper then i thought.

One problem had with having a company car for so long is i dont have any no claims bonus so the standard 3rd party fire and theft quotes I was getting (41 years old, driving since 17, 3 points on licence) were £600,00 upwards!

Anyway the Parjero website had some links to insurance companies who specilise in this and I got it fully comp for £399.00.

So far so good

Thanks for everyones input it was much appreciated

Cheers
