BSA Superstar

Recommended Posts

As title, my da bought me a .22 BSA superstar secondhand 8 years ago when i was 15 and shot everything from rats to rabbits with it (under his supervision of course ;) )!!

But then when i turned 17 i got a motorbike and chased after woman and beer :drink: i put the gun to one side for 6 years!! But recently i have started gaining interest in it again now that i have a woman and drank my fair share of beer :alcoholic: so i treated it to a new set of optics in the shape of a sabre airgunner 3-9 X 42 AOIR scope, then decided it could do with a little more take down power so stripped it down and fitted an OX mainspring with new seals etc.. which after fitting took the rifle from 10.8ft/lb to 16+ft/lb with crosman accupells. Pretty impressive i thought :clapper:

Now that i have everthing tickety boo, i want to know a few things!! How old are they? Would it be worth my while refinishing the stock and action? Does anyone else on here own/owned one And what do you think of them?

Regards

John-boy

When i was 15 i used mine with a simmons 4 x 32 scope and took rabbits out to 35m max, but now that its a bit more powerful and equipped with better optics i think i will be able to test this rifles full potential!!

Hi there ,i have a mk1 22 superstar that i have had 19 years from new ,love it to bits it gets used nearly every weekend and has never let me down in all those years. i feed her rws superdomes at the moment and have just upgraded the scope to a hawke 4-12-50 ao ir , we have taken many a woody and lost count of how many squirels over the years. I hope you enjoy yours mate..is yours the same as this one if yes then its a mk1 if not yours might have the different muzzle break with internal thread for a silencer that would be mk2 hope this helps...
