DOG PUP BITCH PUP WHICH MATURES QUICKER

Recommended Posts

its always said that a bitch matures faster than a dog but as you no there are exceptions to all rules mate.if your taking him out with the bitch or a dog thats working properly and he is watching em work you would be surprised how much he is learning. great experience for em to watch how its done properly. atb.

some say bitches mature faster but iv found its just down to the idividual dog and how much ya take him out.

at 8 months then imo is a perfect age at this time of year.

if you have pelnty rabbits on your permission then in a month or so there should be plenty half grown,s around that are not to wise and perfect to get a young dog some confidence.

then again you can leave him off till sep-oct,thats what i have done with my last lurcher.

the choice is yours really.if you feel he is up to it at 8-10 months then i see no reason why you shouldnt be looking for easy opportunities for him to get him going.

my mate has a bitch pup and i have a dog pup out of the same litter ,his bitch is starting to pick rabbits on the lamp and my fella hasnt got going yet his still only 8 months so still very pupish.do dog pups take longer to mature than bitch pups?

imo dogs take longer than bitches to come into their own and a wee word of advice its not a race to see who has got the best dog mate so take your time and you will have a working dog left when your mate has none

Breeding and mentality both play a part.

I have a large heavily built dog pup on.He is nine month.

He as done a bit with the ferrets and suprisingly is very soft mouthed on rabbits.

Personally i wont be lamping him until i think he is ready.

I can tell by is mannerisms that he is going to take time to mature.

I can wait.Iknow it will be worth it
