beginner pigeon shooting

hey all , im going pigeon shooting tomorrow and would just like to ssk how i should set the decoys out.Also, what chokes should i use

I have to say I choose which choke to shoot based on distance to the bird, dont know whether thats right, but just the way I looked at it logically, close bird - less choke wider spread, distant bird - more choke longer range, tigher spread.

 

Tight choke, close range = bird splattered with lead and un-eatable
