help with retrieving

hi all got a prob with a lurcher pup i got had it from 8 weeks old and it is now 6months old the prob i got is it just not in to retrieving i have been doing retrieving with it ever day for weeks now but it just will not do it any help out there thanks :(

has it ever retrieved, if you are doing it every day, it may have lost interest. If not go back to the very basics with it, get a toy that it enjoys playing with, then throw it along your hallway or somewhere that the dog cant go round you. Throw its toy it should go and grab it, then shout it back to you, reward the pup with a treat, only do it a couple of times, then repeat daily, the penny should drop that bringing it back = treat. Best of luck mate, it can be frustrating, dont let this pass on to the pup, it must be fun for it.

i had same problem and still do, keep at it i got mine one of them rabbit skin dummies that got him interested but will only retrieve

for five mins before hes board so i just do small amount twice a day :thumbs:

Belle would never bring anthing back I tryed everything. When she started caching rabbits she would pin them down till I got there. One night she had a long run and she was about 2 hundred yards away I just put the beem in front of her and she followd it all the way in. She now brings all caches to hand live. So dont worry im sure youll be fine just keep trying it will come good im sure.
