jambay5 191
Hello all Well the season is just about done for most of us... Ive got a few more nights and days to do and that's about it. Who has had a good year ? who is looking forward to next season ? I've had a great year to be honest..it started out pretty bad...but I've met some great people off this site and made some good friends over the last year or 2. I've been doing a lot of traveling about this year..I've now managed to get my own permission at 3 different places, and i've got quite a few follow ups to do this summer to gain a bit more hopefully. My dog has come on a treat and she is making her way to becoming a great little worker...not a world beater but a great little pot filler. I'm looking forward to getting my 2 ferrets this summer and getting ready for next years season. Ive learned a few things..seen a lot of stuff I've never seen or done ,and had some nights out on the lamp that i will never forget. Some good..some funny as F..k. all in all a bloody good winter ! happy hunting everyone ! roll on next Year ! Glad you got sorted mate my year as been slow but am happy with the way things have turned out, went ferreting for the first time in years loved every min of it have already got some nets ready for next season. must say am looking forward to the summer to get me and muts fit need to lose some belly lol. Guest vin
see lads it aint all bad on here...sometimes we all have the same things in mind and nothing to argue about.bloody great. had a fantastic day ferreting yesterday on 60.000 acres of beautiful land.. me and 2 mates and one of our mates young lad, couple of spaniels and my lurcher for the bolters. we had a great day and acounted for a good few bunnies..best bit was when we put ferrets in a big set on a hedgerow.. the ferrets were very jumpy and it looked like there was rats about, but next thing a big Stoat popped out and back down the set..so we stood well back and gave him chance to leg it...out he came and off bouncing down the hedge with my lurcher in chase...next thing it runs down another warren and at the same time out shoots a rabbit straight into my dogs jaws...it was a spectacular catch and we were all laughing about it all the way home. ended the day on a few wood pigeon coming into roost in a small wood. We had a visit from the landowner who took some pictures of us for the famers journal or something like that,he was a having a great laugh watching us dig down 5 foot through the roots of his hedgerow to get to the ferret. a great day with my mates from school who i have now been ferretting with for over 30 years...something we reminded the young fella about when he was dangling by the wellies down the hole...LOL. atb Vin Quote Link to post
