eye in the sky 0 Posted March 3, 2011 Report Share Posted March 3, 2011 Alright all hope you all having a good season What it is is when I put my bird down to mault shortly I'm looking at getting a dog what I'm after is a genuine all round dog bushing pointing etc... I no you can get pointers for pointing cockers for bushing etc but I got my mind set on a springer are these useful dogs it's mainly for falconry but shooting every now an again any advice Cheers Ian Quote Link to post
austringer 0 Posted March 4, 2011 Report Share Posted March 4, 2011 Hi mate, I would go for one of the H.P.R breeds there more suited to falconry h.p.r stands for hunt,point,retrieve just incase you didnt know, there also good for shooting(true alrounders).springers are good flushing dogs but you carnt beat a good solid point,it gives you the chance to set your self up for a controlled flush.A good example is the smooth or wirehaired hungarian visla.atb Quote Link to post
