depends what time of year mate there a big difference between an accidental pre ban hare in the summer time or one in the dead of winter

The lad asked what you would do PREEBAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It depends on a lot of things; the dog, the owner, the land, time of year, etc. All dogs are different, some start early, some later. A decent owner would know when his dog was ready. I started one at 12 month and 1 day, she ran and killed her 1st hare without any problem; another, I waited unil she was nearer 18 month before entering her to hare. So a simple yes/no poll doesn't mean much.

Cheers.

yes i would ..i wouldnt have the pup with me on the slip if i didnt think it wouldnt be up to it ...i would pick my place to make sure the pup wouldnt get dragged about ..if it missed it then i would give it a bit longer before i tried it again ...and if it caught it i would still lead it up and make sure the pup goes home with a bit more confidence .......to much to soon can fook a young dog ...but they also have to learn ....and like some folk said the time of year comes seriously into the equation ...

ALRIGHT MEN.

IF OUT FOR A MOOCH PREBAN WAE YOUR11MTH OLD PUP AND BIG EARS JUMPED 60YRDS IN FRONT.

FIRST WOULD YOU SLIP.

2NDWOULD YOU GIVE IT ANOTHER 40YRDS.

3RD WOULD YOU STAND AND WATCH IT JOGGING AWAY

4TH YOU SLIP AND YOUR PUP REELS IT IN 3TURNS DEAD.

WHERE DO YOU STAND.

DO YOU HAVE AN 11MTH OLD SINGLE HANDED HARE KILLER.

NEXT HARE WHAT WOULD YOU DO.

Depends on the individual dog, time of year and area.,, in general, yes.

ITS ILLEGAL TO SLIP ANY DOG ON A HARE SO I WOULDNT :thumbdown:

But :whistling: if the dog was running free , then hell, let him go.However a dispondent pup,can wreck havoc with the owners and the pups training/confidence.

Read post 3 mate, graham has answered all your questions.

And as others have said it depends on the pup, time of year and possibly what the running ground is like.
