Guest Eamon.Mc
Thought I'd DIG this old argument up as there seems to be a bit of confusion surrounding WORKING TERRIERS again. Quote Link to post
Guest whitser
this is my understanding of a working terrier. a working terrier is one thats goes into the ground and works its quarry til it either bolts or is dug out. if a terrier is only used for ratting and rabbiting etc.. only then its a sporting terrier. a working terrier does its job below ground. bigdan 11
i use my dogs as a source of food so to me its not sport i understand what your saying i thought terrier was the meaning of earth dog i might be wrong but i think its opinion about the working side of things i will say mine work but are not earth dogs if they work at the chosen game that makes workers i have no doubt it takes a harder dog to dig than to bush if 2 people had jobs one was a florist one was a tarmacer the tarmac is harder work but both are still work just different type same as terrier work but most dogs should be able to bush not many can dig Quote Link to post
Lew 111
I think most of the lads that do the ratting on here are the ones that ask for the pictures to be taken down. thats why i dont post on here because the lads see abit missing on a grafters face and ask it to be removed. Guest proudy
I do a little bit of everthing with the terrier's be it shooting/ferreting/bushing/ratting and digging when i get the chance and personaly i would call it all work and it should be all in one section because they are all working sport's..Millet I think a digging section is a good idea. The members who consistently protest against pics of terriers being marked up then have a choice, if offended by it don't look & definitely don't f*****g post. Marked up terriers are nothing to be ashamed of, I wait with bated breath for some Plummerplile to put me straight & inform me that good dogs don't get marked up if they are they have probably been doubled up.
