i,ve never done it for afew year now taff but im certain we use to get double what we got for the salmon,think it was £4 a lb mate. ;)

I've turned my 100 yrd into a quick set and keep the 50 traditional. Just need soem permission with a few more bunnies closer to home! I've got to drive best part of 70 miles to get any coney :(

 

May sound odd but i'd take some rubber gloves / marigolds with you as well for handling the line if you're handlining it in... that shit can be a bitch to grip and give you a nasty burn.

Buy a copy of "sea angler" magazine if you can.There are nearly always features on the latest catches of bass around the country with loads of tips on stuff which is easily overlooked but can make a big difference.eg tides,time of day (or night) as well as baits rigs to use etc.

Have to agree though,a speargun is much more suited to those of us with the predator instinct!! ;)

how do you know there will be more fish in march if you havent been to see if theres fish now?????? bass on beach all year round were i am.

 

 

Where do you do your fishing tunny ? I normally fish along north wales coast and it's very quiet where bass are concerned during the winter period. Still plenty of doggies knocking around though !!!

:good:i do a lot of bass fishing on the south wales cost crab tends to take saller fish early on in season say up to september there on i use nothing but whole squid you tend to get bigger fish october onwards up to say christmas i use a pulley pennel rig with 6/0 and 4/0 hooks its a good set up for surf and rock marks crab sel for about £1 each abox of squid about £2 one box will do for afour hour trip give it ago :yes:
