pest hunter 151 15
I like the first shot very much. Im not sure about the second shot being that low on the head Mabe its just me but i would of waited to see the mid of the head for perfict placement. But all to their own if it works. It was on an incline so had take it into account. As crosshairs were on the neck but pellet struck perfect headshot due to pellet trajectory on the incline. Atb Scott 1 Quote Link to post
pest hunter 151 15
Cross hairs were just under twig impact must have been were crosshairs were otherwise you would of hit the twig. Incline will be canciled out if you are shooting further away than your ziro range Although if it went over the twig the shot would of been to far to the edge of the skull to drop cleanly. As well the bird flue off down and sideways not a direct brain shot. But im not posting to upset you just to help you see nice clean kills. Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Hi guys, Out of interest, I’ve copied this second pigeon clip and put it through a slow motion video editing suite to actually see where the cross hairs were when the shot was released as I personally thought the shot was ok . The still screen capture is stopped at where the shot was released. Scott did have a slight bit of lateral movement to the right just after the trigger was released but nothing more than a hairs width . As you can actually see the cross hair was placed around 1 mildot hold under which if the pigeon was at a steepish angle to the shooter and just below the shooters zero range I would say that Scott placed the shot perfectly and the pellet would be just about bang on for a brain hit . In the worst case the pellet would have impacted in the pigeon’s spine just right of the cross hair now due to the slight lateral movement, severing it straight away also gaining a very humane kill . I sometimes take spine shots when the pigeon is facing away from me and they kill as fast as a head of heart shot. I personally don’t think that there was anything wrong with the shot and due to the fact that it was taken through a scope camera I actually think it was very well placed and taken indeed . This is just my personal opinion though and others may disagree with me which is fine . Si. Quote Link to post
