hallam.d 0
Im going to probably look very silly but ask anyway. Do you have to come from a wealthy background to be a huntsman? I know they don't get a high wage (could anyone give me an average wage??) so I was wondering if people can make a living in it as their one and only job? If so how can they? Thanks. desertdog 149
you would need some dosh to maintain your pack and kennels, but most packs have a mastership and they provide along with the hunt commitee, subscribers pay the hunt for the priviage of going out, and the good will of the farmers gives them land and in return the hunt picks up fallen stock as a service, i know a good few lads who have gone into kennels and worked their way up the ladder and not come from a hunting family, but i think its a case of maybe your father was huntsman at some other kennels, and if he was a good chap, you,d be favoured more, your more likely to get on, but its a hard life, not just goin out with hounds and chasing foxes all day,but a good life.
