DEE 0 Posted February 28, 2011 Author Report Share Posted February 28, 2011 thanks alot pal its satin clear coat varnish and yes it was took all the way back to the wood because the previous owner had re varnished the standard wood but musta put 5-6 layers of varnish on it was a good few mil thick lol:) added a little few adjustments here and ther just to fit my hands better( nothing major only slight tinkers around the grip and fore stock , and rounded off the sharpe edges just to give it a smoother clean look for the light colouring . as for the l/h stock ill have a trugde around see what i can find because id be interested in a second project stock if thatd be ok ? al get back to you pal thanks dee Quote Link to post

A fair job to strip it then....6 coats I like to fettle my stocks to buddy, nothing better than a nice fitting stock. If you can find a leftie mate, I have a right hander here in resonable nick, very tiny chip out of the timber on the back of the combe.
