I don't mean run and catch they generally pass at my side when called, but if they are both a distance out then I have to wait for them to stop being arses. Quote Link to post

tsteve9999 456
I had exactly the same problem if I took my sons terrier out with my dog. The only way for me was to leave the terrier at home and concentrate on my dog. I've reached the stage where I take the two out together once a week for a mooch and the rest of the time it's the lurcher on it's own. The terrier still ranges way too far in front of me for my liking, and pulls the lurcher along with him but the two together are much more obedient than before and the lurchers spot on when he's on his own. Everything I've read said 2 dogs together were hard work and it certainly proved too much for a novice like me. My advice is to take each dog out on its own and work on them on their own for a while, in my experience dogs pick up bad habits from other dogs a lot easier than good ones. Tom Quote Link to post
