My mate has an ex racing greyhound what mite be coimng out ferreting with us to catch any bolters, i was just wondering if it will take to it as its never been out before?

pure greyhounds are way to big in my opinion i think it wil chase it out of instinct but weather it will catch or not is a different question. it has no problem with speed but it has to keep up the speed and bend down alot to pick up the rabbit while keeping the speed to keep up with it i think there just too big good luck with the ferreting and all the best whippet boy :thumbs-up:

Yep true even tho i think its worth a go, but i dont want to let too many bunny escape at the end of the day reli (even tho i have no problem with my quarry escaping for another day)

ive had several i dont think there too big at all i had one bitch wasnt even 25 inch and ive seen plenty that size

not too big just not built for it.

mine were all wreckless only used them on the lamp and then i had to choose the ground carefully.

i wouldnt entertain it.

If a greyhound was brought up from a pup, in the manner of a lurcher, id say it would be fine.

Just the thought of it makes me cringe,if I was one of the ferrets i'd be afraid,very afraid.

 

It's not the size that will hinder the greyhound [i've seen plenty of big dogs 25" plus excell

at ferreting]it's the fact that it has never done it before.

 

I would expect the worst which could be a dead ferret and a badly injured dog,ask yourself

is it worth it?

i dont think a greyhound is the right size if you ask me but what can you lose if you take it but

if it is no good with ferets then for me it would be a no
