TOMO 26,199
I love the romantic notion of the lurcher feeding the family but can i ask, and this is probably better aimed at lurcher owners who kept them a few years ago. Have any of our members actually genuinely used a lurcher to help them through tough times, by putting food on the table and perhaps the game dealers/butchers trays...... many a time in the 80s 3 young uns to feed -- poached the odd pheasant aswell - kept the local chinese takeaway supplied to get a few quid in ,,, even poached the odd allotment .. had a good customer base down the pub for rabbits pheasant and mushrooms .... I some mushrooms are worth more than others  , but feck they taste fowl  Quote Link to post

boyo 1,398
back in the seventies i packed a job in to go on the nat king cole and run the dogs flat out and was a lot better off than i was in work. i was married with 2 young uns and the money off the dogs was much appreciated and needed me and a mate who is a member on here were out every chance we got and those dogs were well fit. ime more in to the long ears now but back then i was living the life and running the dogs flat out sometimes to much if the truth be known but the money didnt half come in handy and it was a lot more enjoyable than shifts in a factory .
