jusar whippets 10
I ran out of Norocillin the other day (which I have used for years) & i have managed to get a syringe full of Penstrip (penstrep) off my farmer mate. Can anybody recommend the mil per kg dosage, and is it intromuscular or back of the neck jobbie? Ta Quote Link to post

fat man 4,741
Theres actually two types of penstrip, one intermuscler and the second under the skin.I would give 2ml the full of a small syringe either way,it wont do any harm. 1 Quote Link to post

Johnny85 50
like the fatman said 2ml wont do any harm giv it to ur dog in the back leg Why back leg?, All injections should be on the scruff/neck (whether under the skin or muscle) should they not? all the vets inject in the neck because closer to heart and can access the blood stream quicker, also in a terrier, it is as close as you can get to the infected area i.e. the nose. or am I wrong? Don't quote me on it, but i'm pretty sure vets do it in the neck as a throwback from jagging "food animals" eg sheep n cattle, so as not to spoil the carcase. Quote Link to post

Squirrel_Basher 17,100
The neck is jabbed in mammals because its the only area of skin for a subcutaneous [spelling] injection available that can be safely liftly away from blood vessels ,arteries, muscle .Inter muscular injection is self explanatory and is local to the troubled area.
