pianoman 3,587
Listening to the broadcast; once again the terrified voice of the anti comes bleating like a frightened lamb; with utterly ill-considered, unworkable alternatives and impractical measures. In the face of modern times there'll either be licencing or an outright ban as the policew will not be able to cope with the extra workload that a licencing of over three million air rifles in current ownership will impose. Like I said before. If the law enforces air rifles to be licenced then I'm going the whole hog and having the lot tuned to higher power. OR I'll refocus my shooting on full-bore rimfire and centrefire rifles only. You might as well, for the headache an FAC causes with the application for one, expense, home security measures and police checks. If these people want to be so bloody pedantic about gun laws, they can start with having that thick-as-shit b*****d footballer Cole charged with armed tresspass for having an air rifle on land he had no permission for such and unlawful wounding. Good on you Mushroom for having a go back at the dumb twat on the anti side! Simon Quote Link to post
rossi_j 99
I hope the anti's dont get there way again, a outright ban would leave some of us with no chance of a ticket and without sport. Well done for ringing in mushroom, I will have a listen at work tomorow .atb..ste. Quote Link to post

andyfr1968 772
Nice one, Mushroom The bottom line with all licence or not bullsh*t is you cannot legislate against stupid. Did hand gun crime go down when they were banned?? Did they feck. You cannot legislate against crims and nutters either.... Quote Link to post

DEE 0
well done mushroom i hate the people that take an idiotic view and try to press jam and weld it into the countrys minds. its stupid im a responsible person and belive im worthy of using an air rifle so why can anybody stop me if i have taken the ful precautions needed i understand tht they can be used as weapons but as far as i see it , its a tool of my trade . further more if this backfires on us lot (the sensible, educated people who love and care for our sport )i personaly want to see tht P***k of a football player in a cell for his wrong doings.they cant hide it now its in the papers so somthing is going to come of this . Good on you Mushroom for having a go back at the dumb twat on the anti side! Simon i was talkin to one of my mates on the weekend he has a fac daystate an he reckoned he can only shoot with it on police approved permissions (i.e large enough not to over shoot on other peoples land) my best permissions are fairly small so this would be of no use to me is that right? pianoman 3,587
Good answer Garfield! I shoot FAC spring air rifles on land that has been police-approved for .22 rimfire and shotgun. To be honest, while there is an advantage of pellet velocity to FAC air rifles, they do not, in any way, overshadow a really nice and accurate, sweet shooting rifle of sub 12 ft/lb output. If you shoot over a small amount of land for your permission, a sub 12 ft/lb rifle will see you just fine. Quote Link to post
