Rabbiting man 1,191
My dad had a Bull/Greyhound/Collie/Greyhound when I was in my younger days it will take all game from deer, fox, rabbit, hares night & day it was the best thing i.ve seen to this day I love the Bullx but I will not have one they are to much dog for me I dont think they are rabbiting dog they are better on bigger game & the ones that bite back and i.ve been around lurchers for years im a rabbiter so stay with my Collie/Greyhounds and all the best to the one that have them & work them well and get the best out of them happy hunting all Quote Link to post

nitestalker 28 209
Theres been some interesting topics posted of late concerning the bull x and them being brain dead crunching machine.Which i totaly disagree with .i myself have been involved in running dogs for past 20 years and believe me had my fair share of shite of every breed.but the last say 10 years have kept my own stuff which basically is bull lurcher with a variety of blood in the line including minshaw [the old stuff] and variety of top class track dogs.i agree with some comments about people going hell bent on having bull blood in there dogs nowadays but even with bulls there is a lot of shite breed .people just breeding any type bull with any greyhound etc and expecting a world beater.but is it not the same in all types of lurchers???take for instance saluki xes.i myself have seen some good dogs over the years but again seen some shite....all bullx owners don,t piss in the same pot.my own view on the bull cross is pre ban nothing could touch them lamping charlies 3 to 4 nights a week and catching and killing between 3to 7 a night [good winter foxes].and if the dog is doing that much work he will have it down to fine art and will not take much damage ,but even the best dogs take stick in all different breeds. these are my 2 9 week old bull x hound pups i owened the father he was a 80lb pit workin 100% was bred 2 a 78lb coursin hound bitch very game doin charlie no prob do u tink pups bred this way will be fast enough 4 charlie or will they need more hound down the line tanx Quote Link to post

pattfell 1
Bull crosses are a high maintanace breed if thare not worked and exercised.a love em and wouldnt have a lurcher my first cross was a wild child and a true working animal bred from proven gray and bull lines and is the key to breeding this type of dog.thare defonatly not for pets or sumthing you want to take out once every few weeks for a mooch.just bred the first cross with a pure salukie bitch and the boy a kept back is well laid back compared to the father.just have to hope he got the minerals the salukie was a game little bitch for taking and runing anything so shouldnt be a problem a hope.
