Joe67 239
not long picked them up,they are livly wee fookers eh! ive now got 2 hutchs that will do for now but plan to get a bigger one soon since the fooker off gumtree is a fanny and keeps wasting my time. ive split the hobs and jill up,gotta say i was abit unsure about sticking my hand in there at first,i thought they could be biters or they will run like fook/try escape,3 ferrets 2 hands ive no chance, soon as i tryed to open the hutch the 3 were charging out but once the door was open then are easy handled and stroll about exploring everything without a care, dont even try escape! i got some sawdust with the ferrets, but need to replace that asap as i think thats the cause of the wet nose on the 2 hobs, the last owner has been feeding them wet tined cat food, not a good idea right?ive gave them some more sawdust and straw and dry cat food for now and will pick up woodshavings/food today/tomorrow jills are not quite in season yet then,so i dont have to worry about this one,ive got them just in time there could be one problem though,my mums been feeding a stray cat for about 2 years,it comes and gos stays in the house in winter and romes about in the summer, ive got a feeling when it seems the ferrets in hutchs its gonna go wild.. if anyone up here is looking for a ferrtet let me know,am just starting out and was thinking before i seen these 3 with hutch etc 2 was my limit, saying that if no one is after one ill keep the 3 no problem Edited March 1, 2011 by Joe67 Quote Link to post

Ideation 8,216
3 is as much hassle os 2, and i hate splitting up an established social group, you never know what odd reaction you might get, and you will probably end up giving away the best worker. Sods law that. Quote Link to post

Joe67 239
Ditch the sawdust it can cause breathing problems get them on to shavings ,and your saying ot yourself cat foods no for ferrets its for cat's try them on meat .And watch out for the cat carrying cat flu thats a real killer in ferrets aye i will be mate,i only used the dry cat food yesterday because ive seen posts on here saying its ok to use now and then, will be leaving soon to pick up woodshavings and dry ferret food. i put the jill back in with the 2 hobs yesterday for a wee while, the hutch i got looked clean but was stinking!turns out the right hand side of the hutch had fresh sawdust, probaly because i was picking them up.the beding area was soaking and stinking.so after a good clean the jill is back in and will be able to relax now on her own,the two hobs have been at her alot.you can see a chunk of hair missing behind her left ear. heres some pics just after i got back, you can see there hair sticking out not sure if thats because they are nervious from being moved about or maybe not been looked after before..the mesh etc has also been cleaned now,all that crap is off.
