Dan37 6
Just thought I'd share some pics my two (taken on a walk out today in the woods). They're coming on well - done a bit this season, but really just been working on obediance (recall etc) and fitness and getting to know how we all work together, they are my first workers after all. Really looking forward to some fun later in the year The white & Brindle dog is just under 21" tts and 29lbs - he's 14 months old and probably done with growing he's got much more muscle bulk than the bitch and uses his nose and head a bit more than she does The black bitch is just under 20" tts and 27lbs - she's 10mnths and got a little bit of growing left to do She has the edge on speed I reckon, and has a very, very strong prey drive. They're both pure whippet, don't know his lines - but got him from a farmer who worked the Dam out Cambridge way. The bitch is from the Sooty Sam / Laguna lines (not that I knew this at the time!). Let me know what you think to the pics. Quote Link to post

Getting there though Ok a tip from me that worked for the stock training of my dogs, which im sure you will appreciate if you work your dogs, and was the first thing i did when they were pups, 1 dog at a time, take him her to where there is livestock, bearing in mind there is lots of lambs about now so be carefull and thoughtfull , now as soon as your dog shows interest and this is where you have to be able to read your dogs mind, a sharp tug on the lead with the command NO, dont overdo it, just a few minutes each day and you will break your dog to livestock, other people might have different ideas im just telling you what worked for me, the only way i get my permission is to prove my dogs are livestock trained good luck keith Quote Link to post
