thought i would post an old picture up to show yous a nights lamping and the following mornings ferreting up here in northumberland .me and a mate had obtained a fair bit of rabbit control on a few farms adjoining each other and we got a phone call mid summer to say they were over run and the local keepers were planning to introduce mixy so me and a pal said we would be up on the friday night with the rifles and lamps. we took ferrets for the following day and what a time we had nice bit of rain and a slight breeze made for the best nights lamping ive ever had .if im not mistaken we took 162 rabbits in total over 100 with rifles [rapid 7 mk2 logun mk2] we sold the lot on the sunay in our local pubs/clubs at a quid each so we were happy the farmers were happy dont know about the keepers tho as we were told they were a miserable lot

aye it is a black one in the middle mate every now and then one shows up we normally leave them for some reason but we had no choice that night because of the threat from the keepers with the mixy thing. mind you lads 20 years ago i went to caithness and was gob smacked at the amount of bunnies up there ,dont know what its like now tho

Me and my shooting buddy steve have seen one on our permission, only saw it once though, dont know if its still around but I know if I see it its going straght in the bag and im sure steve feels the same :laugh:

 

You never know there could be a few black ones hopping about in spring, fingers crossed :thumbs:
