hya lads im in swales an looking for 'big' carp/catfish lakes dnt realy matter bout the mileage,or size of lakes just good reveiws fished around oxford / swindon places like that but find the over fished venues, b greatfull for sum good advice! thanks

All lakes,well most that hold good fish are over fished.

There is a small lake called Barton court in kintbury,near hungerford,berkshire that produces fish often over the 20lb mark Plus, hungerford canal has fish up tp 30lb..

Also produces good bags of roach,dace,bream and perch.

 

any interest fishing the canal,get a permit,either day or a season ticket as i will be asking for them

hi there a place in abercwmboi in south wales the old phernsite there a pond there you don,t pay to go on there ,carp, perch,i think there pike in there rorch if that any good to you

i dont think thats the kind of place hes looking for unless hes collecting scrap ,its called the ferny? carp to 30+ roach to 11 lbs lol scales in the kitchen

 

could try bryn bach park although no cats in there but some decent carp

 

ponsticill/dolygaer is stunning but massive at around 4 miles long, but no night fishing as far as i know but some big old fish in there and not over fished

 

theres the birch near newport not fished there though

The hungerford canal angling website is new and totaly unfinished.

there is so much more needs adding/updating.

 

The lake,im not sure who has fished it lately but as the water warms is when it tends to fish well as does most waters although the canal is starting to produce carp. the weights average from a few wild carp around 10lb-15lb.

mirrors and commons expect to weigh 12lb-30lb, nothing smaller.
