rabbits running through ditches

went out ferreting yesterday and had long nets set up on the 2 sides of a hedge and all the rabbits my ferret bolted wer running inside the hedge why is this happening as it keeps happening when i ferret hedges :hmm: :hmm:

cause they feel safe running up the hedge and more than likely there are sets further up hedge were they can go back down.

Rabbits are not stupid

 

They know that running along the bottom of the hedge is there best chance of escape.

 

You need to set a purse net/ poke net on the run in the hedge

Aye they feel safer staying in cover coming out into the open there vulnerable

get yourself a couple of 6 metre stop nets

or kick the last pole on your longnet through the hedge

just put nets on the first few warrens a the hedge,

that way when they bolt up the hedge to the next netted warren they will back net themselves
