pans or spiral feeders

Recommended Posts

The springs are what I use, don't like the pans, only problem with the springs is the get bent and knackered when the deer are at them, but just takes to seconds to amend that. When I put hoppers out and spend a lot of time filling them and hand feeding I do it for the pheasant's and partridges, not for other animals, what's the point on wasting money on something that has no commercial value?

I use both...

Part of the Estate is open to the public, and when I used springs, I saw Joe Public walk up to a feeder, say "How does this work?" and wrench the spring to the point that the barrel emptied! So for the 'Public' areas, I use pans now. (We have Peafowl & Guinea Fowl in the public areas).

Those areas where the Fee-Paying-Public aren't allowed, where I rear pheasants,I use springs.
