calling time on breeding woodies

went out the other day for a plink around with nothing really in mind,i managed a magpie and 6 woodies but the woodies are pairing up now and i find them a little easy to pick off so im calling it a day on woody for the time being [not magpies ]

My frends dog came trotting back with a well retrieved woody only to literaly pop it at his feet :laugh: :laugh:

 

He was a little miffed to say the least.

 

Its hard enough to get them to retrieve properly, without having to teach them not to chew aswel lol

Hear what your saying about picking em off, Odd ones for the pot will still be coming for a lil why yet. As for them breeding all year mole, They may just be shagging I see no evidence round here of juvenile woody's and they bloody stick out like a sore thumb. Clumsy dodgy colored idiots they are and all.

 

See the jackdaws collecting sticks now all day long and the great tits are checking out the box in the garden.

 

Find bloody woody's shed the feathers so god dam easy anyhow, Ya dog just picks um up and gets a mouthful lol

I AGREE WITH YOU MATE THEY DO SHED THEIR FEATHERS EASILY SHE IS VERY SOFT MOUTHED BUT DID KILL A RAT A FEW WEEKS AGO SO HOPE IT DOESNT CHANGE HER SHE CAUGHT IT IN THE GREEN HOUSE WHEN I WASNT LOOKING
