ABOUT THE POST It's true Staffy mate...bit more info or some more pics otherwise all you'll get is "nice dog mate" At least you won't get "nice collar mate" Glad the bitch is coming on for you. How does she hunt? What's her nose like? Quote Link to post
staffy-1 0
Thanks fellas, aye i know i was in a bit of a rush doing that. She hunts the cover up real well, i do use her sometimes for ferreting she marks up rabbits 100% but the only problem is she kills ferrets lol. Shes a bit on and off for marking foxes, she has only started working since she was around two years old. When i got her from the rehoming kennels she was really out of shape with no muscle tone and even friendly with cats and pet rabbits. I kept on persevering to take her out with my mates dogs digging, working cover etc. until one day it just clicked, she was a bit hesitant at first with the things that bite back, her confidence seems to be up now and does as well as i want her to be. I have a few more pictures of that day stabs but ill think they would get me banned from the site. staffy-1 p.s Do you work your staffs to ground?? She has been in one or two drains which have had nothing in, but all the earths up here seem too tight for her to get in. Quote Link to post
Stabs 3
Used to Staffy...used to. I only have the one old dog now and he's scared of the dark i could dig that old bitch of mine but not very often in a season. She had a poor nose to be honest but the old dog is still trailing away like a trooper. Can't fault him for cover work. The bitch got lazy from an early age and learnt to sit off him and pick up the rewards of his hard work. Tight earths can be a problem for them but my bitch was only 24lb. Quote Link to post
staffy-1 0
like the look of her, i noticed your bitch has a straight tail. My staff has a tail like a handle on a well with a curve at the end. DO you know why?, could it possibly be bred with another dog??...... staffy-1 Quote Link to post
Stabs 3
They are supposed to have a pump handle tail mate....his was straight as he was knackered after an 8 mile run Quote Link to post
