Guest thebigdog
wouldnt recomend a bullx as a first dog. especially before you even know what a dog needs. do some research on what dogs need then start off with something easier to handle like a grey x whippet Quote Link to post
028butlerboy 0
Just out of interest what attracts you to bullx lurchers in particular? Bull x lurchers and bull x grey's!! Should have been more specific. I like them for their rugged look over anything, no real reason other than that. Quote Link to post

John-boy patience and ear plugs, they are among the worst lurchers for whining and howling at night, stubborn too, can drive you to insanity im thinking of getting a pup myself, miss having a bull grey about despite their faults, especially when i go for a midnight mooch around the place. Maybe see if you can go out with some folk and watch different dogs work. Buying a dog on looks isnt usually the best route. . . . Quote Link to post
DOVEY182009 12
My first dog was a bullx, never realy wanted a bull x in general but before i started running dogs, a lurcher was a lurcer to me. All i wanted was something to hunt with and i done canny well with him considering. I would say go ahead and get urself a bullx as a 1st dog because i've had no problem at all with mine. (obviously cant speak for everyone.) Then i got a saluki and i was told by evryone he would be a nightmare but i couldn't ask for a better dog. Quote Link to post

Dan Edwards 1,134
Get yourself a bullx kid. Best "pets" I've ever seen in my life have been some of these yard bred bulldogs. That's about 99% sure what kinda bullcross you will be able to get your hands on anyhow so I think it'd be a good choice for ya. It's not like you are gonna be able to jump right into some 8th generation type bullcross dogs anyhow that are the real mccoy so I say go for it. Be a smart little tool and handy to have around and be your buddy. Quote Link to post
