77 si 21
Hi mate, I couldn't tell you whether a hawke scope is any I good for a 17hmr I suppose it depends on which one you buy, I have got a 3x9x40 on my pcp and I have been pleased with the quality ' so far 'I would deffinately keep your options open though when considering a scope for a rifle of that calibre. Hope this helps. ATB Si Quote Link to post
markha 99
Well...... I had one of the top 30mm tube tactical models, very good glass, very fasy and superb light transmission, however I had a problem with mine not holding zero very well, I was constantly having to re-zero, and not just a few clicks here and there, I mean 3/4 turns back and forth, a real pain in the arse, I lost faith in it, it was only a few months old, you can read my initial review in the optics section. I was so pissed off that I didnt even give Hawke the option of sorting it out or swapping it, I just sold it on with the warning that it didnt hold zero to well. But, lots of others on here have no problems, plus the retiv=cle on most of the good Hawke scopes are etched on the glass. Im now using a Bushnel and I can bang it all day long and it hasnt lost zero yet Quote Link to post

pianoman 3,587
If I were you, I'd use Bushnell or Simmons Whitetail scopes for your 17HMR rifle. You won't go wrong with these. Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
The HMR is a very low recoiling round, so something that can cope with the recoil from a springer should have no trouble with the HMR. I use a Hawke scope on my .22LR, and have no problems with zero or anything like that. They are what they are, don't expect Zeiss or Swaro quality optics, but for the money they are pretty good! zini 1,939
Hawke scopes are very good but some models I find have a reticule that is a little too fat on low mags. The other week I was shooting 75 metres 20 mm spinner targets with Davy and Andy on Andy's garden, before anyone thinks that a garden that long is highly unlikely, actually Andy's garden is probably around 300 to 400 metres long as he owns a massive patch of land. Anyway at 75 metres on x6 my reticule was fatter than the 20mm spinner which made my shots even harder while Davy and Andy were using MTC Viper scopes where their reticule was still thinner. I don't surpose that makes much difference with a air rifle as 75 metres is further than most people would shoot at but with a fac it may well mean using x10 like I ended up doing. secretagentmole 1,701
I have a Hawke Sport, 3-12x40 HR mildot scope, I like it, well priced, fairly well made, holds zero well, nice and bright in low light conditions, great little optic! I would recommend Hawke Scopes to anybody, obviously the more you spend the better the scope you will get, but Hawke are very good! Quote Link to post
19powell90 89
had 3 hawk scopes and are great. i dont rate the map 6 pro reticle as i find the mildots are too close together especially at night. mildots are the way forward. scott Quote Link to post
