Biters

My new ferret has a tendency to bite. Handling as much as I can but he still nips.

Anyone got any good tips to help cut it out.

some just get excited mate some just bite, an some are just docile,

 

keep with it hopefully it gets better

Feed it then handle it ,its less likely to bite on a full stomache

Spit in your hand and let it lick it,,This can help chill them out,, but TBH just keep handling the wee bugger

Either your ferret has a big mouth or you've a wee hand as there's no way I could get my knuckle to the back of my ferrets mouth.

As said finger in mouth or throat it stopped mine biting after a couple of times.

Either your ferret has a big mouth or you've a wee hand as there's no way I could get my knuckle to the back of my ferrets mouth.

no ones asked you the age of the ferret

if it was a kitt, then some of the advice above does work, plenty of handling, full stomach, knuckle to back of throat etc

 

if however, its fully grown, last years maybe, or older, and you have only just aquired it, then Id say its a biter, that someone has passed onto you, plenty will say you can train an adult out of it, Id say, why waste time and bite marks, there will be plenty of new kitts on these forums in a few months time, get one of those instead
