debur 0
Hi,i'm a member of a small syndicate,we put down 750 poults and aim to shoot eight days of around 35/40 birds. There are twelve full guns who all pay the same. The idea was that all members share the work, rearing, feeding, puting out hoppers ect.We have been very successful in acheiving our goal, returning a five year average of 50% or over of birds put down.It is a relaxed shoot and we take turns to walk and stand. My question is how does other syndicates get round the problem of sharing out the work as there are six members who end up doing all the work!!!How do other syndicates manage this issue? Also how do you allocate spare shooting places as currently if a syndicate member is unable to attend the place is given to our shoot captain ,who then invites his own guests!!! your thoughts please. Ideation 8,216
Sounds like your doing well. But with us, we have working guns and paying guns. The working guns get a reduction, and look after a pen each, and have work parties throughout the summer. The others just pay full price and turn up to shoot. We also have a rule that if unable to attend you must tell the shoot captain with 24 hrs notice and then you send a guest, to shoot for you. If you do not, then the shoot captain either nominates another gun, or one of us jumps in. We also have boundry days, which are attended by whoever, and if you dont turn up then there are just less guns, for a walked about vermin shoot and cock shoot at the borders.
