This country needs people to work in order to improve the economy, if emplopment is way down on thie list as you say what about about the NHS, police & fire brigade. artic 595 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Share Posted February 23, 2011 The key here is for everyone to be confident and have faith. Many many people are claiming some sort of benifit. Some have genuine reasons, and many others don't. I have a friend, who was made redundant after 19yrs, he claimed job seekers allowance, he had to, there was a VERY big risk of losing his home, family and not to mention his pride. The dole center put him on a course (back to work project), well within 16 months he completed the course, and within 8 set up his own business repairing/restoring old clocks. His business is thriving, and now has more comforts than he ever had! The snag is that people do adjust to NOT working, thus making them lazy if you like, and the idea of staying at home is great, getting out of bed at anytime. There is no REAL stress to deal with compared to when you do work. It's a bit like when you take your annual leave, the feeling of going back to work is so depressing, BUT it has to be done, there are responsibilities to uphold. Looking after yourself and loved ones and provide food to remain fit and healthy is very important. There are many schemes to go on,even with all these cuts, but I strongly believe that too many people are PICKY when it comes to finding a job. Is there a concrete solution to the matter? I hope so.
