zini 1,939
Hi lads, I thought that I would share this tip with you that I now use when scope camera hunting. Normally the battery that you get with a Sony handycam once fully charged will only last approximately 103 minutes (1 hour 43 mins) so when out scanning for quarry especially at night when you cant see without the added IR your battery soon discharges and you cant get many minutes of actual shooting footage. To get around this problem I went onto EBay and purchased this second battery from Hong Kong that only cost me £13. This battery fits on the Handycam but gives you 550 minutes (9 hours 10 minutes) of recording time from a full charge making using your handycam at night for scanning the fields to find quarry then shoot it very easy in deed. I now find that my handycam battery out lasts my custom Deben 12 volt battery by over 2 times so this battery is now a Godsend when rabbiting or ratting as I can just leave the camera on when static hunting either over a warren or in a confined space when ratting while I wait for my quarry to appear. The photos show a difference in battery size and the time you get from a full charge. I have tested the bigger battery already on the Seben camera mount and it fits perfect without catching on anything. Hope fully this is in the correct section. If its not I apologise now.
