The Cropsafe Crew out for a few hours

Recommended Posts

The guys popped down for a couple of hours today, we didnt have too long because Byron had his "clinic appointment" :whistling: He needs to stay away from those naughty girls with loose tops and no knickers.

Anyhow, we started off on a small banking that looked well but Tilly hardly marked any, pointless doing them then, so we did an up and off to another farm and it was much better. The first set we did produced a good 12 rabbits, only a couple of bolters though the rest had to be dug, they start to get a bit twitchy at this time of year.

Sorry about the language, Stevo has Turretts Syndrome.

The next set produced 8 and so on, we did have a lot of digging and the odd pinkie but these hedgerows really need doing as the crop damage is terrible throughout the year. Like I said we didnt have too long to stay but we got stuck in and even though Byron missed one as he was digging, it jumped out of the hole and nearly hit him in the smacker, we didnt do too bad. It was pretty miserable first thing foggy, drizzle and cold but not that bad it would damp our spirits, joy and glee all the way, Stevo even had time to back fill one of the holes with some fertilizer (home grown)

It was a painfull experience underneath the hawthorn bushes, more thorns to be squeezed and dug out tonight in the tub, but now I've got my new large jaccuzzi in my missis can help me sort that, as well as other things :D

It was nice to have Tilly back after she had been off for a while having pups, its just a pity we wont have long left before we have to stop, (just in case your not sure check all the threads) It will be strange not going ferreting, it just dont seem like 2 minutes since we started but I suppose I will be fishing and pigeon shooting soon anyhow. Well the short day produced just 29 rabbits so not hat bad really and Tilly got some excercise and so did we.

We were hoping to reach the magical 1000 rabbits before the end of the season, I think we are 800 plus at the moment so a couple of bonus days might boost the numbers up a bit.IMG_1680.jpg

often pull a rat out especially when near maize crop, they can only bite once!
