kid,, stand on a ladder, put your 15 foot collar on the floor, go up the ladder with your 8 foot box,, it will still pick the 15 foot collar up,

Or you could dig a 15ft hole and drop the collar in

15ft box will pick up an 8ft collar you just half the reading likewise an 8ft boxwill pick up a 15ft collar BUT you double the reading

if thats the case why did'nt deben just make a 15ft box to pick up the 8ft&15ft collars then.. i've just tried the 8ft box on a 15ft collar an it's only picking up at 8ft.

well if its an 8ft box it could nt say 15ft could it? Bet the wheel was fully turned when it read 8ft now if you put a 15ft sticker on the same wheel switch it on fully and it will read 15ft when your 8ft collars 8ft away

As already stated the boxes are all the same apart from the stickers on the wheel

who's a clever boy then leeview. if all the box's are the same why's there a 15ft box an collar/ 8ft box an collar. if you read the first post of bushwacker you will see i've stated that an 8ft box will only pick up a 15ft collar to 8ft.

The original 8ft box will pick up either the original 15ft collars or the new mrk 3 collars at a greater distance than 8ft if they are in a good condition. The Carbon rod went in a mrk 3 out in the field this season so we used a spare knocker box for the day with he mrk 3 collars and proved we could pick them up at around 15ft and this was an 8ft box. The grey boxes are the same as has been said just slightly diferent calibration so you may not get a true reading but it is the collar that determains the range not the box.If you can't detect a 15ft collar at more than 8 ft with any knocker box then its getting ready for a service if you can find somebody that will still do it

so what you saying all 5 of my 8ft knocker box's need a service because there all reading the same.

 

 

If your checking them correctly as leeveiw,tomo & myself have all tried to explain to you then yes thats exactly what I'm saying.
