My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding star Paddy Doherty is under police guard, after a judge cleared his cousin of grievous bodily harm. Doherty broke gypsy tradition by going to the police and accusing his cousin Johnny Joyce of the attack. Joyce's father told The Sun: "He is a liar, a cheat and a scumbag. He is a coward for going to the police. The community has seen him for what he is. "For centuries the travelling community has always sorted these things out between themselves." "You have a fair fight - then it is handshakes all round." The attack, which happened last August after a day-long drinking session, is said to have led to Joyce leaving Doherty with a fractured jaw, broken nose and split lip. However, the jury at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court found Joyce not guilty of GBH with intent and a lesser alternative charge of unlawful wounding. This is not the first controversy to rock the show, My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, which attracted more viewers than the Brits last week. Viewers have been shocked by tales of girls as young as eight pole-dancing and of disputes being worked out with bare-knuckle fighting. Everybody wants the top spot and to knock the top spot off. I have met paddy and i can honestly say he is a nice guy but someone you wouldnt want to cross.. Now why will he be embarassed about get done in by a 20yr old! The cousin in question is an animal, and will have a go at anyone. He is heading to the top in his community. Or the morgue. paddy still has a lot of respect .. the man turned down a fair fight then attacked paddy in his own home the police brought the prosacution -- due to paddys injurys and hospital stay .... but likes been said who cares life to short look after your own ... 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
