Saluki's weight

Recommended Posts

Guest big e

Salukis can be very embarrassing I was at the Moira game fair with my sauki whippet pup last year and some couple commented on how my dog needs a goodfeed but honestly the wee f****r was fed like a king just wouldn't gain weight

Totaly agree mate ignorant fuckers think they know it all

Just displaying their own ignorance big e, I remember after me and a pal brought a couple of saluki x's over in the eightie's I overheard another friend remark at a game fair to his buddy, "Look what they're charging £200 for in England" as we walked by. When the season came in it was us who were bringing the hares home every week.

Friends of mine had a very lightly built Saluki lurcher, mainly Saluki. She always showed ribs, pin bones and vertebrae, didn't eat a huge amount and could run forever, but they were always embarassed

This one of mine always looks skinny but she can go out cover 3 or 4 miles then get home and still be bouncing round like a loony .Her energy seems endless come next year i,ll see what she can take before showing signs of tiring.post-45972-0-93304400-1304774182_thumb.jpg

Is that your import Rio looks like it can run mate stands well tall how big is she mate

Salukis are very light framed  though ive seen some strong lines especially in khazak hounds reckon they would be heavier .

Not sure if the lightness helps or hinders when the grounds soft be interesting to hear folks veiws on it as myself ive seen light framed dogs struggle when they have to dig in when the grounds heavy but ive never seen a pure on in those conditions only hybrids :(
