Guest AngelicAcid
peroxide/tcp for really really bad ones, just watch, and only when neccasry. not regular., then nu stock, heals and grows the hair back, good for mites, mange and ear mites as well. Salt water for the tiny ones. This would be in an ideal world, but you MUST got to the vets ideally. Quote Link to post

Guest busterdog
Cox not haveing a go but IMO it's a question that could land a lot of people in the shit, all wounds should be seen by a vet full stop, this is an open forum......... Quote Link to post

scalesntails 118
While you can legally do anything medical treatments to your own dog unqualified you must not cause unnecessary suffering. The RSPCA would prosecute any cases they found of people performing medical procedures on their own dogs and rightly or wrongly they would probably win. However with serious cuts the best thing to do is clean the wound well and then seek veterinary advice if required. There are plenty of things that can be done in an emergency situation like gluing, stapling or even using talc or corn flour to clot wounds if needed. These things should only be done if the emergency vet tells you too. My 3 dogs are covered by insurance for less than £20 a month for the 3. The insurance company doesn't have a lurcher category they are just mongrels in their eyes so it makes them cheaper. Quote Link to post
