Hello there.

I really wouldn't bother going the whole hog unless your sick of counting your cash.

I have a tikka M595 like yourself in 22.250, and the only change I've made is to replace the wooden stock with a McMillan fibre glass stock. The reason for this is because my right eye is failing and I've switch to shooting left hand, so I had the stock made to fit the right hand action with left hand cheek peice.

I'm lead to believe that trigger systems for the M595 are limited, and to be honest, with a little tinker the standard trigger is very good. I was going to re-barrel the rifle but the gun smith said I was mad because the barrel on the rifle is fine.

Also if your foxing with the rifle it's a lot of money to knock about. You could always tart it up a little. Nice stock, new over sized bolt handle, flute the bolt etc and then when a new barrel is needed look at a nice stainless fluted barrel etc.

The list is endless really, that's the price list by the way, but if your he'll bent on a full custom job then I'd keep your M595 as it is and build from a new action up.

Also I want to add I'm no expert and don't pretend to be so my comments are my own opinions and nothing more.

Each gun smith/ rifle builder will have there own preferance's favourites so ask about but a good place to start would be Steve Kershaw or John Carr.

All the best.

i would get yourself a action then have a word with dasherman about rebarrel and bedding into a mcmillan sako style stock. oversize bolt handle and fluted bolt if you want one. you can allways add the fluted bolt and bolt handle when you have funds.

the stock bedding and barrel work is where the main cost will come. due to vat and £ against the $ a rebarrel your looking around £700 now !

depends on what you want to spend. you could keep a eye out for a semi custom or custom rifle ready built. as they wont be far off the same prices.

by the time you buy action, rebarrel, stock, bedding cost, your looking at £2000+

what caliber you looking to have this rifle in. have you seen the 6br im selling for a friend of mine on here.

very little work and very accurate. i wouldnt mind it. shame im lefthanded though and its in a righthanded stock ! i dont mind the righthand bolt but it must have ambi stock.
