sambo123 594
I think I like the rapid more. Like I said before my price range only stretches to the mk1 model. ive read this has no regulator. Is this a good enough reason to go BSA? Is a regulated PCP superior to a non? Is it a big enough difference ? If I sound daft It's because I'm trying to learn! Lol Sam Quote Link to post

blackstaff 488
I've had a rapid mk1 and recently got a new r-10. Personally a didn't like the rapid, seemed a little clunky and too mechanical for me Been through a few more guns sinc then but i really like my r10. Athstecicly( ? ) its very nice to look at and it all seems to be very smooth working. The only thing i don't like too much with the B.S.A. is the magazines, the loading takes some getting used to I keep touching the recoil lever and pinging back a pellet !! Edited to say Zini - Water Badger was probably trying to zero his gun after a few of his home brew ales, hence the lack of consistancy Edited February 21, 2011 by blackstaff Quote Link to post

I and many rapid users on the www.rapid7owners.com site can get a mk1 to shoot sub 5ftps spreads with a bit of work . This work you could do yourself with ease once talked through it. I have a regged mk11 and it shoots no better than a mk1 thats sorted. If your bsa goes wrong in the field you are knackered , with a rapid it is fixed in 15 minutes and thats a full service on a mk1. I am not baised because i shoot rapids as i loved my superten mk111 after i sorted the crap barrel . You could also go for a AA 410 and get tweaky to reg it and you will have more than enough shots and a nice light rifle. If your looking for a rapid have a look on the site as there is always odd ones for sale and we know most that have been worked on on the forum and will know if its a bad one before you buy it . ATB Eddie. ive owned both rapid 7 mk1 and the new bsa r10 personally for balance the r10 is better the rapid is front heavy for looks the r10- more modern looking for accuracy both are good for hunting rapid is a bit heavier than the r10 over long walks makes the difference , =good for price r10 - over priced a old rapid 7rapid 7 is the best hunting gun ive owned but hyped by high prices and most over the 12ft of pound legal limit youll be better with the r 10 , even when 12 ft of pound the stocks have been cut at back so easy to turn up power and the police ant stupid,if you choose choose wisely with the rapid as most have been tampered with , the bsa you should be fine Quote Link to post
Rake aboot 4,935
Daysate Air Ranger !!! lol Nah ,I think the rapid is a great gun,, but I could not live with that stock,, easily one of the ugliest guns I`ve seen, R-10 lovely and a great performer. Would be tempted by an Air Arms though. S510 floats my boat more than the rapid. Yes I know!! rapids great , gods own gun etc!! but hey! thats just me Quote Link to post
Jack Dark 2
Bsa SuperTen every time :clapping: Quote Link to post
optelic2 48
Rapid every time for me. Ive had three legal limit rapids in the past and now own an fac lothar match barrelled mk1 rapid which is 13 years old but shoots sub 1" groups at 45yds and hasnt shot a bad group with any of the pellets ive tried. I very briefy owned a mk2 s10 and wasnt impressed and thought it a poor mans rapid although have to admit the new r-10's look very nice . Quote Link to post

ftm 3,357
you wont go wrong with the rapid mate i own a mk2 that just keeps doing its job week in week out tough as old boots [mines been dropped scratched soaked ] and it just dusts itself down and does the buissiness for me Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
The more I read about the rapid mark 2 the more I would be interested in trying one or a SType in the future as a potential hunter to sit along side my r10 and hw100t. Got to say they sound good. Si Quote Link to post
