North Wales Hunter 6
Oh ok I see but what if immdoing pest control for farmers? Or is it fround upon? Thanks NWH Quote Link to post
THE GRIFF 8
We will be doing more shooting through the summer than ferreting but will still do some summer ferreting as well. If you have plenty of land to go at where you wont kill your sport for next year and you can put up with missing a few holes due to the ground cover, plenty of kills down the holes and getting stung by nettles as well as fighting your way through brambles then there is no reason why you cant ferret all year round. We have a few permissions this year with sets in open fields so they will be getting done during the summer months, no brambles or nettles. We had about 8 pregnant ones last weekend out of 22 we caught, the farmer was chuft to bits because those 8 would of been 40 odd in a few weeks causing even more damage. If you are doing pest control and you can handle the points made above then ferret away all year round, do a good job, kill plenty of rabbits and keep the farmer sweet, word will soon get around and you will have more ferreting than you can handle and loads of good sport and fun all year round. That is just my opinion. Quote Link to post

Jamie m 668
We started back second weekend in september this season and they were a good size the young Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Nightmare today, wasting time with ferrets hunting and killing hoppers, jumping through the nets and back down, while mum was trying to fight ferrets off. Anyone who tries to use ferreting in summer as pest control needs their head read. Quote Link to post
