A NICE MORNING OUT.

Got to our usual place at dawn and set off, after dicussing which warrens to do.

Got 2 in the first bury and moved on.

We had 4 by tea break and set back and just enjoyed the surroundings.

Slowly but surley, we had a steady trickle of bunnys as the morning went on, lost 2 and ended up with 7, finished at 1pm.

 

Stoped off at my mates house at the end, to take the pic of the final bag, as i forgot.

 

Rest are me mate entering ferts ect, did not stay out to long, wanted to get back to my whippet pup, for a mooch.

Nobody other than the outdoor /ferreter would ever understand would they!!

By the way what's the metal shepherds hook?.. is it for pushing through to locate the warren?

Yes, i use the sepherds crook as a probe, to locate the tunnels. My mate has a better one then me, but mine is just for now, untill i get a decent one, although, it seems to do the job so far.

Yes, i had her out last sunday, for just an hour, she did great, well impressed for a biginner.

Lot to learn yet, but i have every confidence in her.

 

Wont take her for a short trip ferreting for a wee while yet, little by little me thinks and let her be a pup.

I know what you mean beagles all my burrows are under hedges to have open burrows like that would be better then wining the lottery

Its not all nice warrens for us, as their is a hell of a lot of bunnys in the surrounding hedges, to be had yet.

 

But, why make life harder on ourselfs, as their is still the ones in open feilds to be dealt with first.
