airbourne 128
Have they tested the bloods for anything? Hi moll no blood tests call me heartless but i told him not to waste that kind of money on it, it was the runt of the litter which he went and got with out me knowing, i would of not had it if you gifted it to me. Its unproven has yet has regauards catching rabbits and is not suitable to breed off.If it was a good rabbiter i would have give him the money for the tests. I all so belive that the strong survive and the weak die.
Moll. 1,770
I asked because i had a bitch went down hill fast, similar-ish to yours, she would pick up with ab's and steroids then go down again and not respond the next time, hers was an auto immune disorder and had to be pts. Please get the dog pts rather than let is die (not saying you would) if it is similar to Nell's condition then it will die a nasty death if left.

Hi Moll thats one thing i would not do let it her suffer, at the moment she has picked up well on the medication. Ive told my lad if she goes down hill again after the medication he should seriously think about putting her to sleep, its a shame but i don't believe that you should keep them alive by keeping them on medication, its not fair on them. Guest chook
I would get the vet to treat for meningitis - she would need to be on steroids for a few months, high doses then ween her off, normally after that they are fine, but can relapse. If it is meningitis then they can make a full recovery without problems, http://whippet-health.co.uk/#/steroid-responsive-meningitis/4543483615 My brother beagle x suffered with it twice, first time it wasn't treated properly and she relapsed a year later, second time she ended up suffering from meningitis and Pemphigus Vulgaris which is an AI, due to the AB's they gave her, put her on steroids and she recovered quickly and has been fine for over a year now, once they reach two, they don't normally get it again, but could relapse in old age. chook1 184
If it was meningitis then 5 weeks wouldnt have been long enough for the steroids, it needs to be at least 2-3 months, starting with verry high doseges(sp) then weening then off slowley over a period of months.
