well my lads 9 month old whippet went to the vet wenesday not eating or drinking high tempreture, a couple of injections and antibiotics he went home still no wiser, took her back friday still the same, vets don't no what is wrong with her, more injections and stronger antibiotics. IVE TOLD HIM TO BRACE HIM SELF FOR THE WORST, I HOPE IAM WRONG, After all the work he's put into training her he will be gutted. :(

Have they not took bloods? or done anything like that.

if the dogs not eaten or drank for a couple of days

i would have thought they would have kept him in

and put him on an iv - as he will be dehydrated now.

No mate no blood tests no iv but thats vets for you either do nowt or go overboard and run the cost up into the hundreds of pounds.

Personaly first thing monday i would get him to another vets,

person who runs the local lurcher/grey rescue not far from you use's

(i think) Limetree's Veterinary Clinic - but will check with her,

there hound savy and know what there doing.

sounds like meningititis vet needs to get hin on steroids only definate way of diagnosis is spinal tap which will cost £££ and treatment will be steroids ask vet to get moving asap whippets are prone and its bang on right age for it to show i had a 8 month with it good luck dont let vet fob u off

Not eating or drinking could be signs of anything

same as the high temp, if he had of said the dogs was hunched up

walking strangly with its head down, then i would have said possably meningitis,

had a beagle x suffer with it twice, and its something that can not be mistaken.

She has pick up a bit today hate a bit and drank, will see what she's like monday if no better back down vet or even go to another vet.

try looking on the whippet forums there must be a dozen cases where vets have not picked up on it the early stages of SRM is very simalar to lots of problems, its something that once experienced is never mistaken again

ive heard limetree's vets in cheadle staffordshire are rob dogs aswell ????????
