Well i've only been on this site for a couple of weeks and so far it's been real good to me. I came on here hoping to learn a bit about the way you guys in the UK do things. I've been into hunting for just shy of 30 years now. I've killed countless deer with gun and bow. I've killed more than my share of Bears, Turkeys and just about any other game there is over here. I've never heard of anyone in Canada using terriers though. Sure lots of guys chase Coons, foxes and coyotes with hounds but i wanted to learn about these little Terriers. I actually found it hard to believe that a dog that small could take on a coon. Well lucky for me in less than a week on this site i meet up with a great guy from England that now lives over here and only a little over an hour from my house. "Coyotehunter" brought up a few terriers and a couple of lurchers to my place last Sunday. We went through a couple of my neighbours barns and we were into the coons in no time. I couldn't believe the heart that these little dogs have! When they caught hold of the first one i must admit i was a bit shocked! I kinda just stood there in awe for a few moments. They killed it very quickly. The second one we got into we pulled out a couple of the older dogs and let the young ones take care of business. For a few seconds the coon was laying a bit of beating on them but they soon got controll of the situation. Anyway, it was a great time and experience that i really didn't think i'd get in Canada! I'm hoping to get out a bit more with Coyotehunter and learn the basics and hopefully get some dogs of my own in the near future. This is an awsome sport! Thanks Coyotehunter.
