celt 1
Life looks good for terriers in the wild east. Don't like the trials much but the jadgs look handy dogs Celt Quote Link to post
sidney 0
Real post fella, just what field sports in this country needs more ammo for the antis that visit this site! I thought this was a hunting forum Quote Link to post
skycat 6,173
And they obviously use those foxes and badgers again and again: in one shot they are giving the fox an antibiotic jab, and presumably they rear whole litters so as to have a constant supply of captive bait> disgusting. :realmad: Quote Link to post
Guest JOEB
Some pretty good digging pics........but I am afraid the baiting bit dose feck all for me I wonder if they get through many dogs  J Quote Link to post
jessdale 416
It wasn`t that long ago since our soldiers were over there stopping them killing their own neighbours so i suppose a bit of baiting is nothing Quote Link to post
anton 0
Hi all, i thought i would add my two pennys worth here......... I spent a lot of time in Germany and some of the Baltic states both in green and as a Civvi In Germany the jaeger or hunters sometimes use man made sets usually made from concrete and dug in for both Brock and Charlie i have seen that some even have a small opening on top for when the going gets tough they open this and can either retrieve the terrier or flush the occupent to the waiting gun. but, I have never seen the kind of baiting that is shown on the Serb website there.More for pest control as Rabies still rears its ugly head and the foxes then have to be culled as carriers but this being done through other methods. I have witnessed what is shown on the website in the former Jugoslavian Rebublic as a civvi at first hand while looking for a property (estate agent: " Ah you have English hunting dog I show you our hunting dogs") and was shocked and disgusted I even had the p**s ripped out of me because i had my JRT bitch with me and i refused to let her go anywhere near what was going on. it went along the lines of ..... "English terrier s**t", "Only real men andgood strong dogs do this" (yeah right you macho twat ) etc. needles to say i hightailed it after 10 mins as the atmosphere got a little tetchy to say the least with people and terriers on both sides starting to get vocal According to both the translator and estate agent this sort of thing goes on in some places and dogs are placed and bred for gameness ,speed of kill etc this going on a form of working pedigree which i saw as well and after looking at that site i know realise where the "Quarry" came from and brought back unhappy memorys of a otherwise good holiday in a country with otherwise friendly people. The German Hunting terrier DJH is by nature a very game little dog and would give many a Patterdale over here a run for it's money (ooops feel pandoras box opening  ) and i have toyed with the idea for a long time now of importing them to the uk as i have not seen one over here yet. The Den´s like them from serbia are not allowed in Germany ! Here they hunters have artifictuall dens to let the young one´s try alittle but they are never allowed to go in direktly in confrontation with the quarry ( wich is the fox , no badgers ) ! most of the foxes are old dude´s wich know what they had to do ! i was at one artifictual den were the old Fox that is used there was around 8 years old , a hard maneater and also bite a lot of dog´s through the fence ! ... the dog´s are never allowed to bite the fox ! Most of the DJT are really to hard and a lot dying at groundwork ! The way they doing it in serbia is not the way they doing it here in Germany ! any like jessdale said few years ago they killing their neighbors , so what´s do you expect how they tread animals ! and about the den´s wich are humane build here , they are mostly in area´s with a high foxpopulation ! They are areas with around 20-30 of the not naturall den´s in one permission ... but there are also than around 50-100 naturall den´s in the same permission ! i live direkly in a highhouse on the border to a big wood ... you can´t make you a picture how many CityFoxes are here and nearly all Rabbitden´s in that wood are used from them ... so to many of them and not enough space ! a lot of theese den´s are destroyed of the city because they running under the way were the people walk ! The not naturall den ( Kunstbau )is to hold them there were they are easier to hunt ! you can see them foxes running in the night here through the high houses and when they are horny you can hear them screaming on the schoolbackyard ! the kunstbau is the easiest way to controll the Foxpopulation here ! Greeting´s Steezy Ps but i like the naturall dens ! :-) Edited January 27, 2007 by steezy Quote Link to post

steezy 1
If you look under the calendar on the toppage there are 2 short videos ! If the old German hunters would known what they did with their dog´s they had never sell them any of theese dog´s ! they turn the german Jagd into the getting next banned breed ! Ruger8 0
Hope this is not to far off topic, but the info may be usefull for someone. If someone wanted to import a dog from the EU it ould not be possible for a pup under 10 months, a dog must be micro chiped then vacinated against rabies the earliest this can be done is 4 months of age, six months after this test a blood test is taken. You could then import under the pet passport scheme, appart from the cost of getting there and back it would not cost a significant amount to bring into the country. Some people import pregnent bitches, if it is a rare breed in this country. Quote Link to post
